Cloud Mapping

hi there guys - just puffing on a few fags - I  know I shouldn't be doing this -  Have got time to check out map plotting tools and have been able to find out a little more information about  http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm . I have found a walking forum where people talk about it and compare it to other path plotting software and apps . Please note talk of a Spanish app which seems to access OS maps for free. http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/forum/walking-and-climbing/wheres-the-path-website/58889.html. im gonna check there information out though what i would really like to find is how you can embed the maps into a blog.

Wet Day - At A Loss

hi there guys - horrible rainy day in west Oxfordshire - around about 50 degrees Fahrenheit but  seems colder - this is supposed to be spring isn't it - oh well that's the nature of climate change and there we go. A bit frustrated as I wanted to do a round walk of about 24km starting here and going through Minster Lovell , Crawley and other local areas. will have to be for another day. I need to get a cartridge for my Epson printer and the compatible premium cartridge I just got doesn't seem to work so need to wait for another one. Also, it's Good Friday - trying to love Jesus - bless him. Just waiting for my good friend, Eric, to come around later - he's a laid back ex hippy guy with a real love for music and we watch music documentaries together and listen to some music normally on Spotify.

One result of the day being what it is, is that the library isn't open meaning that when I ran out of ink I couldn't then use the library to do my print out from where's my path 3 which by the way is proving difficult to print out anyway - resistant to printing that's for sure.

Guy's anybody out there who has experience of this programme for route mapping and anyone who can tell me the advantage of putting links into this post

As it is Ive just found 2 new photos from villages in the local area which are well worth visiting on a nice spring or summer day or lets face it, even now as long as you wrap up. So let's see shall we?
This is the lamb at Crawley near Witney - a good local pub which I think used to be used by bikers in the local area. Please comment if you know if this is still the case

Crawley has been important in the history of the area as Crawley Mill was used to harness the water of the River Windrush to use in the blanket industry so important to the Witney area. Uphill Farm was the first of the villages significant dwellings, built around the 17th Century. What i remember Crawley for is the bridge and sheep that dwell on the ridges above the village.
As you can see - the bridge is single track so a traffic light system is always in use
This is a particularly sunny day

What i have noticed is that when there are periods of heavy rainfall, this area tends to flood heavily so that the fields either side of the bridge are waterlogged. This part of the village is on the low windrush valley though there are some hills starting over the bridge and some nice footpaths

River Windrush at Crawley with typical Cotswold stone house and low hills behind

I'm thinking of setting up a 26 mile round walk which centres on Carterton in Oxfordshire using the brilliant Where's My Path 3http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm. I'm not sure if this link is the original or an earlier one. But anyway readers, as far as I'm concerned this is the best walking/hiking plotting tool there is. so easy to use and then print out the walks. What I would like is to be able to download my planned walks onto my blog so that Ii can share them with you. I can do this with googlmaps getamap but they unfortunately don't include footpaths and the details of an OS map such as that on where's my path. Let me give you a few more photos of places that i would pass on these walks.
I've walked over this bridge countless times - on the other side you'll find the mysterious Ruins - past the cricket pitch and on through the churchyard. alternatively walk through the village itself up to the church and ruins
Hi there guys - just waking up to realise that i have been a bully in my life and I have been very uncaring of my fellow human beings when there is so much bad going on in the world. help me to be more supportive and kinder and to realise that i am not a victim. Far from it. I have constricted the freedom of others and have always had to have my own way, all of this due to my anger which is totally unjustified. i have been given lots of opportunities in life and only my own hostility has stopped me progressing further in life. It is time to realise my huge part in my problems and that all of us are equal so to feel uniquely hard done by is not to take responsibility and to make my problem a problem for others which is not fair on others. help me god to be more responsible for my actions and to feel more love and affection for those around me because everything has to be based on the love of Jehovah and my own opinions and hostilities are illusions. A poor friend like Nick is not an angry man even though he has been pushed around. He is a kind and lost soul who needs to be given respect and not to be looked down upon by a holier than though me. As if i am better than him. Far from it. he needs to trust that i am on his side and i want to be on his side and not to be so selfish and me me me - take criticism, don't need praise - love those who criticise me because they love too and need to be loved. Lets see if Ward John needs my help today.. don't feel hatred and envy for my brothers and friends and be thankful for the friendship that Dave is offering me. don't ever envy - be more adult and realise that I have hurt a lot of peoples feelings who are good and caring people not tantrummers. It is time to grow up and for instance realise how much pressure women have to endure and to be on their side

New Day - New Idea

Ruins of Lovell Hall at Little Minster

Hi  there guys! This is a new day and a new idea as a blog. i intend to walk regularly around my home area of West Oxfordshire which is one of the loveliest parts of the UK with truly outstanding places of natural beauty and some of the most stereotypical sleepy villages that you can find in the UK. There may be many foreigners reading this - maybe Americans or Asians or Hispanics. The fact of the matter is that many people from these countries settle for a visit to London and that's about it. I'm sure some of you have visited Blenheim Palace which is only about 15 miles from my home town of Witney and many more, Oxford, which is probably the second destination for others, but very few venture outside the these well worn paths which is a real shame as there are some beautiful places so close to you, if you were only better informed and/or a little more adventurous. Anyhow, I see it as my job to let you in on our little secret.

I'm also aware that there are many locals who never have time to get out and enjoy what we have here, so I hope to be of use to you too.

My aims are to show some of the more unusual walks as I try doing them myself and  to rate them and give information such and point out places of interest and even  pubs and the like

I'm acutely aware that my writing is rusty but well, this is a blog and not a poetry competition and anyway, things will improve.

Lets get this up and published just to see what the darned things looks like
